Job summary

Innovate UK, Swindon office based, is seeking a Competition Manager to plan and deliver funding opportunities from inception through to project start‑up. You will coordinate with Innovation Leads and stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery, high quality outputs and strong customer service in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
• Experience managing projects or operational processes in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and building relationships.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy.
• Experience with defined processes, governance or regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a portfolio of funding opportunities from launch to start‑up.
• Work with Innovation Leads to develop briefs, guidance and presentations.
• Ensure processes are clear, fair, transparent and audit‑friendly.
• Manage documentation, version control and change management.
• Coordinate stakeholders throughout the competition lifecycle and milestones.
• Set up and manage funding opportunities within the Innovation Funding Service.
• Deliver applicant and assessor briefings and respond to queries.
• Oversee assessment, moderation and funding decisions and panel activities.
• Lead lessons learned reviews and contribute to wider projects.
• Maintain excellent customer service and uphold UKRI/Innovate UK values.
