Team/Role Overview

The Fund Services Portfolio Governance Lead is a senior position within the Fund Services Integrated Core Solutions team. The Integrated Core Solutions team has the unique responsibility of managing a wide range of product capabilities and initiatives that support the 5 products within Fund Services: Fund Accounting and Administration, Middle Office, ETF, Transfer Agency and Fiduciary and Trustee.

Fund Services sits within Services, ones of the 5 key business lines at Citi. Serving clients in 95 countries, Services provides integrated payments and collections, liquidity management, short term financing and trade financing, Investor Services (including Custody, Fund Services and Execution Services) and Issuer Services solutions to multinational corporations, financial institutions, public sector organizations and increasingly mid-sized corporate clients with global needs.

What you’ll do

The Fund Services Portfolio Governance Lead is a critical role within the Integrated Core Solution team that is responsible for driving and continuously improving the governance framework for successful execution of the Funds Portfolio of work that includes, but is not limited to, Technology programs and projects. This role also acts as the central point of contact for Services and Investor Services strategic initiatives that span across the Fund Services product suite.

The interconnected and multi-layered nature of this Portfolio requires a robust program management discipline that focuses on improving levels of accountability, managing risks & issues, streamlining communication & status reporting, and formalizing the decision-making process.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of key initiatives within Fund Services and how they interact to ultimately achieve the Fund Services strategic objectives. The role will support a wide range of sponsors and stakeholders for the purposes of providing Portfolio-level status updates and ensuring that key programs are meeting key milestones and success criteria. The individual will be working within a large matrixed team across Product Management, Operations and Technology and will work together with partners to ensure continuous alignment to the Fund Services strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and continuously refine a robust portfolio governance framework for Fund Services, aligning with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and Citi organisational PMO policies and standards
  • Prepare senior management reporting and discussion materials to provide transparency and drive timely decision making
  • Define clear roles and responsibilities across the Portfolio to ensure clear accountability
  • Identify and manage Portfolio-level risks and issues. Anticipate delays and solve issues that arise. Ensure optimal communication within the team and outside the team. Escalate as needed
  • Drives adherence to Citi processes, procedures, methods, and standards for project delivery and leverage across the portfolio
  • Identifies stakeholders and key organizations and build and manage relationships
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure Objectives and Key Results are clear and critical milestones are well defined and agreed by all. Ensure changes in scope are documented and approved as per the agreed governance model
  • Develop and maintain a Portfolio roadmap, defining the OKRs, critical milestones, timelines and dependencies of the portfolio
  • Lead Services and Investor Services level initiatives that have an impact across the Fund Services suite of products. This includes initiatives such as the Citi Enterprise Architecture Methodology (CEAM) deployment across Fund Services, including documentation, analysis, and optimization of current and future state business processes

What we’ll need from you

  • Significant experience in Project Management positions, whether in IT or technical business areas
  • Strong understanding of Investor Services products a plus
  • Solid proven experience in Portfolio or Program Management.
  • PMI PMP qualified and/or equivalent with proven experience across Agile and Waterfall environments preferred
  • Ability to operate at different levels: to analyse issues, synthesize them. Develop themes. Understand risks, translate lessons learned into actions
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to a fast-moving change environment
  • Strong communicator, written and oral across all levels of the organization, with ability to deliver succinct messages to senior sponsors across the firm
  • Resilient and results oriented, with the ability to influence positive outcomes and deliver best class governance and controls
  • Team player able to bring together wide range of individuals in pursuit of execution and progress
  • Creativity, adaptability, drive, and decisiveness to ensure decisions are reached quickly, minimizing debate
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed environment
  • Forward planning, and problem avoidance and solving skills. Leadership to drive execution while able to minimize tension and ensure the team operates efficiently
