Previous experience and knowledge:
- At least 7 years in Risk Management within financial institutions, mutual funds, private equity, or family offices.
- Experience in senior financial risk roles in relevant financial services or consultancy, with knowledge of bilateral and syndicated Fund Finance transactions like capital calls and NAV financing.
- Understanding of financial risk management techniques and practices.
- Ability to comprehend complex financial products and structures from a risk perspective.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's preferred.
Languages:
- Spanish language skills are a plus.

Overview:
The Global Credit Financial Institutions team at BBVA analyzes financial institutions worldwide, assigning ratings and setting risk appetite. The candidate will manage a portfolio of institutions, staying updated on market developments, regulations, and products affecting the sector.
The Fund Finance Credit Risk team within the Funds unit analyzes, monitors, and reviews the Alternative Funds sector, focusing on Fund Finance and a portfolio of funds/Asset Managers, mainly based in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the Financial Program process, draft credit review documents, and prepare risk rating models, including periodic reviews.
- Present and defend credit risk proposals at risk committees.
- Apply analytical skills to assess fund finance risks and ensure consistency across portfolios and geographies.
- Have proven experience analyzing the alternative Fund sector (Infrastructure, Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate) in Fund Finance roles.
- Analyze capital calls and NAV financing products, understanding their structures and covenants.
- Assess complex financial transactions and explain credit risks.
- Maintain relationships with key clients in CIB and Risk Client Relationships.
- Monitor the portfolio, including legal review and stress testing, and recommend actions.
