Job description

About the role:

The Managed Investment Data Team requires a Senior Data Consultant to drive Morningstar data in the German, Swiss, and Austrian markets. The employee will collaborate with all global and local teams. The Data Consultant is responsible for maintaining relationships with asset managers and other industry actors, demonstrating our capabilities and quality, and representing the voice of the local market to the global and central teams. The consultant will be the main point of contact between our centralized data team and asset managers. The position will be based in our office in Frankfurt.

Job responsibilities:
  • Represent and explain data workflows, processes, and methodologies (ESG, SFDR, MIFID, and other regulatory requirements, Morningstar sustainability rating) to asset managers and clients.
  • Take ownership of acquiring and onboarding new data sets to enhance the quality of analytics delivered to clients.
  • Partner with product, sales, and support teams to resolve client data questions.
  • Collaborate with members of the Data & Development Centres and global teams to align priorities based on local business requirements.
  • Conduct business analysis on market and regulatory changes to design data collection plans that meet client and industry needs.
  • Monitor competitor behavior, trends, and services to ensure Morningstar remains well-positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Fluent in English and German; additional European languages are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding of the investment management industry in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Significant experience in a financial data role.
Nice to Have:
  • Expertise in investment data points, processes, methodologies, calculations, and fund structures.
  • Previous experience in project management and relationship management roles.
  • Additional European language skills.
