Job summary

A leading investment firm is seeking a Fund CFO/Fund Operations Specialist in London who will be part of the Fund CFO team within Infrastructure investments. Responsibilities include reviewing investor reports, managing queries, and supporting fund operations. The ideal candidate will have an ACA qualification and experience in Alternatives funds, particularly in Private Equity strategies, and will benefit from a hybrid working model and competitive compensation.

Team / division overview:

DWS Alternatives is a diversified set of business activities with approximately EUR 115bn in assets under management in strategies including Private Real Estate, Private Infrastructure, Private Credit, Liquid Real Assets (Real Estate/Infrastructure and Commodity Securities) and Sustainable Investments. The global team invests on behalf of a global client base that includes governments, corporations, institutional investors, and a growing UNHW investor group.

The DWS Private Infrastructure business (“DWS Infrastructure”), acquires and manages Debt and Equity investments in businesses that provide essential Infrastructure services in the transport, energy, utilities, digital, circular economy and healthcare sectors. With investment teams located in Europe and the US, the business has a global footprint and is focused on managing infrastructure portfolios that can meet the needs of institutional investors and private clients worldwide. The division has funds under management of approximately €15 billion.

The Fund CFO team within Infrastructure Investments focuses on several key areas to support core operational efficiency across the platform, which includes fund performance, investor reporting and responding to investor queries on fund performance, supporting on transaction structuring for acquisitions, add-ons and disposals, fund operations, fund cash flow management and fund facility, and supporting on new product development initiatives.

Your responsibilities:

As part of the Fund CFO team within Infrastructure investments, responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing quarterly investor reports and financial statements for each Fund, including detailed review of asset metrics and fund metrics.

  • Managing investor queries across all Funds.

  • Participating in the set-up of acquisition/investment structures.

  • Determining the most appropriate accounting treatment for new acquisitions and share the final workings with the administrators.

  • Devise funding for asset acquisition and add-ons/follow-on investments.

  • Maintain and establish relationships with Fund and SPV directors and officers, banks and administrators.

  • Maintaining co-investment and carried interest calculations across each Fund.

  • Forecasting cashflows and managing Fund models at each Fund level.

  • Execution of the fund facility for each Fund.

  • Execution of co-invest structures including working out the allocation across of funds/repatriation mechanics.

We are looking for:

  • ACA (or equivalent accounting qualification) with proven PQE supporting Infrastructure and/or Private Equity funds, demonstrating a solid understanding of fund LPA, tax, legal and regulatory environments.

  • Proven recent experience across Alternatives funds, with a focus on Private Equity strategies preferred, supporting closed-end vehicles with drawdown structures and a knowledge of investor allocations.

  • Ability to translate complex situation into succinct action points.

  • Proven experience across topics such as investor reporting and fund performance, while supporting the structuring of new transactions and new product development initiatives for close-end Private Equity/Infrastructure funds.

  • Motivated team member with strong attention to detail, with strong interpersonal skills with flexibility to work independently.

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
