About Our Client

Well-known global Asset Manager with offices in the US and Europe, specialising in the Mortgage and Consumer Credit fund sphere. They employ circa 2000 people globally and are looking to expand their London-based Asset Servicing Team in a Fund Operations capacity.

Job Description

This role involves overseeing asset servicing and post-closing operational workflows for the European portfolio of whole loans and structured credit products. The focus is on streamlining processes to improve efficiency and accuracy, ensuring synchronization across reporting, reconciliation, and system updates. Collaboration with deal operations and finance teams in Europe and the USA is essential to maintain high data quality and optimize asset servicing and reporting. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with business leaders, investment managers, transaction managers, lenders, servicers, and trustees. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new workflows, optimizing existing processes, and leading a team to meet evolving business needs.

  • Lead end-to-end asset servicing operational workflows for portfolios including residential, consumer, and commercial loans, asset-based financing, securitizations, and structured credit products.
  • Manage daily reconciliation processes with document custodians, third-party servicers, trustee cash accounts, and lender waterfalls.
  • Oversee deal onboarding processes, ensuring correct setup of portfolio management systems with proper connectivity and reconciliation parameters.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on post-closing operational workflows related to servicing and financing transactions, providing guidance and making key decisions.
  • Lead initiatives to produce and streamline loan-level data and reporting, including involvement in valuation processes and monthly NAV and P&L reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Finance, and Deal Operations teams to enhance reporting and data management capabilities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with third-party servicers, trustees, and lenders.
  • Drive automation of deal operations using tools like Excel, Power BI, Arcesium, and Alteryx to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Perform data quality checks to ensure accuracy and synchronization across systems.
  • Proactively seek process improvements and efficiencies.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience in a similar Asset Servicing role within Mortgages, Consumer Credit, or similar fields.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills with ownership of outcomes.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Excel, Alteryx, Power BI, SQL, Python, or other reporting tools is a plus.
  • Understanding of financial products and investment vehicles for whole loan investments.
  • Experience with residential, consumer, and commercial whole loan workflows is advantageous.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail, especially with large data sets.
  • Ability to interpret complex documents and transactions.
  • Excellent relationship management skills for interacting with fund managers, servicers, trustees, and senior management.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration and presentation to senior management.
  • Proactive in process improvement and efficiency seeking.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in operations, fund accounting, or finance, preferably within mortgage or asset management industries.
