Searchandselect is seeking a Financial Accountant with NAV experience for a dynamic investment environment in Douglas, Isle of Man. You will join a small, busy team handling NAV calculations, fund reporting and coordination with counterparties.

Job description

Are you an Accountant with NAV experience looking for an opportunity to develop your career within a dynamic investment environment? We're looking for a driven and curious Financial Accountant to join a small, busy team based in modern offices in Douglas.

This is a varied role offering excellent exposure across fund accounting, NAV calculations, valuations, investment operations and reporting. You'll work as part of a close-knit Isle of Man team while also collaborating with colleagues and key counterparties in the UK.

The opportunity could suit a Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant, someone Qualified by Experience (QBE), or potentially someone coming from an audit background who has the right transferable experience and wants to develop their career within Funds and Investment Management.

Your responsibilities will include.

• Managing the Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation process and portfolio pricing.
• Assisting with client reporting.
• Liaising with fund administrators, prime brokers and accounting counterparties.
• Cash and capacity management, ensuring funds operate within their mandates in relation to leverage and borrowing.
• Managing foreign exchange requirements and non-base currency cash balances.
• Overseeing trade settlements and corporate actions and resolving issues efficiently.
• Assisting with the review of year-end and interim accounts.
• Coordinating with auditors and ensuring reporting deadlines are achieved.
• Supporting regulatory reporting, including Isle of Man FSA statistics, investor US tax reporting and UK FCA transparency reporting.
• Assisting with the establishment of new funds and liaising with relevant parties.
• Monitoring and preparing major shareholder disclosures.
• Supporting Investor Relations with investor presentations.
• Calculating, collating and distributing fund return data.
• Getting involved in a variety of ad hoc projects across the business.
• We'd particularly like to hear from candidates with previous NAV experience and an understanding of fund calculations, valuations and reconciliations.
• Experience within a Fund or Investment Management environment would be advantageous but isn't essential if you can demonstrate relevant experience and a genuine interest in developing within this area. You'll need excellent attention to detail and communication skills, together with the ability to organise your workload, work at pace and enjoy being part of a small and busy team.

Working hours

• The business operates between 8.30am and 6pm, reflecting the needs of its investment and fund activities. There is flexibility for someone who prefers to work standard office hours, with the understanding that some flexibility will be required and there may be occasions when you'll need to work through to 6pm.
