Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Reporting Accountant to join their team in Douglas, Isle of Man. This position is pivotal as the company embarks on an exciting journey of evolving its finance function through investment in automation and artificial intelligence (AI). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting processes across their UK and Isle of Man entities. In this dynamic role, you will delve into the complexities of the business to identify and solve challenges, while also refining existing processes to enhance efficiency. Collaboration with various stakeholders is essential to ensure overall regulatory compliance and transparency. JOB DUTIES:

• Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts and report findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage the preparation of statutory reporting.
• Ensure the timely and accurate maintenance of core accounting records within Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Monitor covenants and report findings to external finance providers.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Prepare and submit IOM and UK Corporate Tax returns, ensuring compliance with current taxation legislation.
• Support the ongoing maintenance and further development of a robust financial control environment.
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline the reporting cycle, utilizing AI tools, and help embed these improvements within the wider finance team.
• Enhance reporting capabilities from Business Central and other reporting tools, aiming to reduce reliance on manual spreadsheets.
• Act as a point of contact for system and data queries, collaborating with colleagues on process and system changes.
• Liaise with external auditors to support the audit process.
• Engage in ad hoc projects as required.
• Train and mentor junior staff members to enhance team capabilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Hold an ACA or ACCA qualification with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a financial reporting role.
• Exhibit strong Excel skills; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is desirable.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferable; familiarity with comparable ERP systems will also be considered.
• Show openness to using AI in daily work, with hands‑on experience of tools such as Claude or Microsoft Copilot being advantageous.
• Demonstrate a process improvement mindset, actively seeking to address manual, repetitive tasks.
• Exhibit sound judgment on when to utilize a tool and when to review details personally, maintaining respect for data confidentiality and control.
