Job summary

Flexzo Teach is looking for a Functional Skills Tutor (Maths & English) in Nottingham. Tutors will enjoy flexible hours and set competitive rates while delivering in-person tutoring to help learners achieve essential skills.

Ideal candidates will have teaching qualifications such as QTS or PGCE and be experienced in supporting students in a structured learning environment. Responsibilities include tracking progress and adapting lessons to meet individual learner needs.

Qualifications

• Must possess QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, or DET/CET qualifications.
• Requires strong experience in delivering Functional Skills.
• Needs to understand exam board requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

• Tutor in-person, focusing on Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills.
• Support learners, track progress, and adapt sessions.
• Help students achieve vital pass marks in Maths and English.

Skills

Strong Functional Skills delivery experience

Understanding of Functional Skills reform standards

Experience tutoring or supporting learners

Education

QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, or DET/CET qualifications

Relevant Level 3 (or higher) qualifications in Maths and/or English
