Job description

Are you a dedicated and passionate educator looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students? We are seeking Part-Time Home Tutors to support students who are unable to access full-time education within a school setting and are of low ability. We require tutors to work 3 hours every morning, Monday to Friday (15 hours in total each week) in the Kidderminster area, DY10. Sessions will be on a 1:1 basis, and weekly reports will be required. The role involves teaching Functional Skills English & Maths at Entry Levels 1 & 2, with some basic sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Functional Skills English & Maths at Entry Levels 1 & 2.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and creativity.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit different styles, curricula, and home settings.
  • Manage behaviour to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with school staff and administrators to meet students' educational needs.
  • Follow lesson plans and curriculum guidelines provided.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assessments to support student progress.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a related degree or have experience as a teaching assistant, HLTA, or teacher.
  • Have previous teaching experience (preferred).
  • Possess strong communication skills and proactive classroom management abilities.
  • Be resilient and receptive to feedback.
  • Be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Be reliable and punctual, with a commitment to scheduled sessions.
  • Be able to engage effectively with students with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
