Role - Functional Skills Tutor

Location: Hillingdon

Rate: £25 - 35 per hour

Subject: Functional skills

Start date: ASAP

As a Functional Skills Tutor, your role involves delivering dynamic and interactive lessons in functional skills subjects such as English and mathematics. You will tailor your teaching approach to meet the diverse learning styles of your students, assess individual strengths and areas for improvement, and develop personalised learning plans to facilitate progress. Your aim is to inspire and motivate students, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment to help them achieve their goals, thereby creating an effective and enriching educational experience for all involved.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging lessons, assess learners’ progress, design learning plans, motivate students, and support them towards their learning objectives.

Qualifications
  • Teaching qualification: minimum Level 3 Education & Training or above and a Level 2/GCSE qualification in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience teaching Functional Skills in English and Mathematics.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with students of all backgrounds.
  • Creative approach to teaching.
  • Passion for helping others succeed and a commitment to inclusive education.
