Job summary

A leading company is looking for a Functional Skills Tutor to join their team in Clacton. In this part-time role, you will support students in achieving their functional skills qualifications in English and Maths up to Level 2. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and the required qualifications, as well as experience in delivering tailoring learning to meet the needs of individual students.

Qualifications

Functional Skills Tutor

Hours: Part-Time, Permanent, 3 days per week

Location: Clacton

Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 per annum, pro rata (depending on experience & qualifications)

Are you a Functional Skills Tutor looking for a new role?

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Functional Skills Tutor.

As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will support students in achieving their functional skills qualifications in English and Maths up to Level 2. We are seeking a motivated, engaging, and inspiring tutor to help learners reach their full potential during our programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.
  2. Plan individual learning to meet learner needs and prepare lesson plans.
  3. Achieve company KPIs and individual performance targets.
  4. Plan embedded learning for groups and individuals.
  5. Develop delivery methods to maximise progression opportunities for learners.
  6. Create a supportive environment in training centres to develop learners' abilities, skills, and confidence.
  7. Regularly assess learners' work.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in delivering Functional Skills or Maths and English up to Level 2.
  2. Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in 14-19 provision.
  3. Full teaching qualifications, e.g., Cert Ed, C&G 7407, CTTLS, DTLLS.
  4. Passion and desire to teach.
  5. Willingness to undertake relevant teaching qualifications if necessary.
