Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Tutor to deliver engaging educational programmes to young learners in Frome. The role focuses on Functional Skills English and Maths and an Employability qualification, supporting a small group of learners and creating differentiated lessons that meet individual needs.

The Ideal Candidate will have Level 3 Teaching Qualification (or equivalent), experience with learners aged 16–19, and a strong understanding of employability skills, with DBS required

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Qualification or equivalent.
• Experience delivering English and/or Maths Functional Skills.
• Experience supporting young people aged 16-19.
• Strong understanding of employability skills and learner progression.
• Experience supporting learners with additional needs or EHCPs would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Passion for helping young people achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths.
• Deliver an Employability qualification.
• Teach and support a small group of approximately 13 learners.
• Create engaging, differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
• Monitor learner progress and provide ongoing support and feedback.
• Work with a small group of 6 learners on Friday in a workplace setting.
• Deliver English and Maths development alongside employability and life skills.
• Collaborate with workplace staff to develop learners' confidence and readiness.
• Support learners in achieving positive outcomes and progression opportunities.

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday | Term Time | Long-Term Block Booking

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and passionate Tutor to deliver engaging educational programmes to young learners in Frome. This is an excellent opportunity for a tutor who enjoys working with small groups and is committed to helping young people develop the academic, personal and workplace skills needed for their future success.

The Role

You will be working across two specialist programmes:

Wednesday & Thursday - Future Ready Programme

• Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths
• Deliver an Employability qualification
• Teach and support a small group of approximately 13 learners
• Create engaging, differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs
• Monitor learner progress and provide ongoing support and feedback

Friday - Supported Internship Programme

• Work with a small group of 6 learners
• Support learners who spend four days per week in a workplace setting
• Deliver English and Maths development alongside employability and life skills
• Work collaboratively with workplace staff to develop learners' confidence, independence and workplace readiness
• Support learners in achieving positive outcomes and progression opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

• Level 3 Teaching Qualification or equivalent
