Overview

Staffordshire based

Full Time, Permanent. Salary - £28,000 - £36,000 per annum.

We are looking for an Employability and Work Skills Tutor to join us at HMP Dovegate - a Category B adult male facility near Uttoxeter, Staffordshire where we care for up to 1160 male adult prisoners over the age of 21 serving a range of sentences including trial, remand, those awaiting sentence and convicted men serving long and short-term sentences.

The Functional Skills Tutor is responsible for delivering a range of functional skills, such as English and Maths.

Responsibilities
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF)
  • Level 3 - subject specialism
  • Have proven experience of working in an environment that demands strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Have demonstrated flexibility and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Recent experience and appropriate knowledge.
  • Experience of a custodial environment would be an advantage
  • Experience of working with learners from non-traditional backgrounds
  • Good technical knowledge and skills
