Functional Skills Tutor

Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor

As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of functional skills to learners at HMYOI Werrington. You will be supported by your Curriculum Manager and teaching colleagues to deliver to children aged 15-17 years. This role offers an opportunity to work in a challenging but rewarding environment. You should hold or be willing to work towards fully funded qualifications such as Level 5 PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLS, QTS, or QTLS.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver and review comprehensive lesson plans that meet the training needs of the group and incorporate literacy, numeracy, language, and personal development.
2. Gather feedback from learners and other sources to review and improve curriculum content.
3. Engage and motivate individuals and groups to maintain interest.
4. Complete necessary administration, including registers, enrolment forms, ILPs, reviews, and awarding body documentation, as required.
5. Assist learners' progression toward qualifications and employment opportunities.
6. Comply with all security and reporting requirements as directed by HMYOI Werrington.
7. Continuously review learners' progression to ensure training meets their needs.
