Functional Skills Teacher

Area: Worcester

Salary: £140 - £200 a day

Start date: 01/09/2025

Monarch Education are honoured to work alongside a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities setting in the Worcester area. We have an amazing opportunity to work in this small Alternative Provision school as a general Teacher, teaching functional skills to small groups. This role will be full time (Mon - Fri) from 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only. However, the school will accept part-time hours for the right candidate.

The role

You will be required to teach small groups of students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs, ranging from ages 11-16. All of the students you will be teaching will have a range of SEMH needs, including anxiety and low self-esteem. The ideal candidate for this role will need to have relevant teaching experience and has previously worked in a similar setting.

  • Will hold QTS or relevant teaching experience (Entry Level and Functional Skills)
  • if without QTS, a relevant teaching qualification such as a PTLLS is desirable
  • Experience supporting children with SEMH needs
