Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutors to support learners in English and Maths across Nottinghamshire. This is a valuable opportunity to help students gain essential qualifications and skills for life, education, and employment.
Position Overview:
Location: Nottinghamshire (multiple in-person locations and remote delivery available)
Subjects: Functional Skills English and/or Maths
Pay Rate: £25–£30 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Flexible – part-time and full-time roles available
Role Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality Functional Skills sessions tailored to learners' individual needs
Support students working towards Entry Level, Level 1, or Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications
Track progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
Adapt teaching methods to suit varying learning styles and abilities
Requirements:
Experience delivering Functional Skills in English and/or Maths
A recognised teaching or assessing qualification is preferred (e.g. PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, AET, etc.)
Strong subject knowledge and a flexible, supportive teaching approach
An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
