Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is recruiting a Functional Skills Maths Tutor to join the education team at HMYOI Staffordshire. You will deliver City & Guilds Functional Skills Maths from Entry Level 1 to Level 2 to small classes of up to 12 learners, helping them build confidence and numeracy skills for employment, education and everyday life.

You will conduct initial BKSB assessments, create ILPs, track progress, use adaptive teaching methods, prepare learners for assessments, and collaborate with prison

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in Mathematics.
• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths.
• Strong classroom management and lesson planning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver interactive Functional Skills Maths lessons to small groups (up to 12).
• Conduct initial BKSB assessments and develop ILPs.
• Prepare learners for City & Guilds exams and qualifications.
• Utilise digital resources to make maths accessible and engaging.
• Collaborate with prison staff and employability teams to promote numeracy.
