Job summary

PeoplePlus is recruiting to deliver Higher-Level English and ESOL tutoring at HMP Wandsworth. You will work with small groups of prison-based learners to develop skills, knowledge and behaviours while supporting long-term goals and aspirations.

We expect Level 3 English or equivalent, ESOL/TEFL qualification (or equivalent), and a teaching or assessing qualification is desirable. You’ll use a range of training methods to engage learners and bring vocational experience to the role.

Qualifications

• Level 3 English or equivalent is required or assumed.
• An ESOL/TEFL qualification, or equivalent, is needed.
• A teaching or assessing qualification is desirable.
• Experience delivering vocational based training is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Higher-Level English and ESOL tutoring to small groups in a prison setting.
• Develop training plans and provide guidance to help learners reach long-term goals.
• Engage learners with a variety of training methods to maintain quality and impact.

Job description

Based on-site at HMP Wandsworth, you will deliver Higher-Level English and ESOL Tutoring, working with small groups of prison-based learners to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours while supporting them with their long-term goals and aspirations.

Our Tutors ensure that the appropriate training plans are in place and that the advice and guidance is given when required while ensuring they deliver the highest level of quality courses that engage with the learners and help them to reach their potential.

What are we looking for?

• Level 3 English or equivalent
• An ESOL/TEFL qualification, or equivalent
• A teaching or assessing qualification is desirable
• Ability to display a wide range of training methods to engage learners
• An expert in your field with substantial vocational experience
• Experience of delivering vocational based training

If you don’t currently hold a teaching or assessing qualification, we are able to support you through the appropriate qualifications and assessments, as part of your probationary period.
