Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced FuSa Base Software Engineer to support the design, implementation, and validation of safety mechanisms at the microcontroller level for high-integrity embedded systems. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 and ASPICE standards across the full software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
∙Design and implement safety mechanisms for base software platforms at the microprocessor level
∙Interpret and apply microcontroller/chip safety manuals to guide software architecture and diagnostics
∙Develop and maintain low-level software for real-time embedded systems in safety-critical environments
∙Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 Part 6 and support full ASPICE V-cycle software delivery
∙Collaborate with system architects, hardware engineers, and safety managers to define and validate safety concepts
∙Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing with traceability to safety requirements
∙Support safety analysis activities including SW-FMEA, fault injection, and diagnostic coverage assessment
Required Skills & Experience
∙5+ years of experience in base software development for real-time embedded systems
∙Strong understanding of functional safety principles and safety lifecycle processes
∙Proficient in C programming, with experience in low-level drivers, bootloaders, and hardware abstraction layers
∙Familiarity with Infineon Tricore TC3xx, ADI wireless BMS, NXP FS65 SBC, and Elektrobit AUTOSAR stack
∙Experience with safety-related software architectures, watchdogs, memory protection, and error handling
∙Working knowledge of configuration management, requirements traceability, and static analysis tools Preferred Qualifications
∙Exposure to ASIL-D software development and tool qualification processes
∙Experience with safety-certified RTOS and AUTOSAR safety extensions ∙Familiarity with safety case documentation and independent safety assessments
