Job description

Functional Data Lead, Outside IR35, £500-600 per day, London 2-3 days per week hybrid, 6 months initial contract

Contract role for a functional data consultant for a global company. This company are going through a global ERP transformation and data overhaul and as such, require a functional data consultant to bridge the gap between global and local teams at a functional level. This would suit someone who has a very sound background and knowledge in data tools and data architecture, and strong stakeholder engagement, able to understand data strategies and managing demand.


You will be responsible for aligning local data initiatives with global strategies while addressing local business intelligence (BI) needs. Serving as the main contact for data-related topics, the you will ensure collaboration, governance, and smooth transitions from local solutions to global data products. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Demand Management – Centralising data requests, prioritising them strategically, and coordinating with relevant teams for delivery using global or local squads.
  2. Legacy BI Management – Overseeing the migration from legacy systems to global platforms and supporting local BI tools and solutions.
  3. Global Data Solution Adoption – Promoting and facilitating the adoption of global data solutions at the local level while ensuring alignment with global strategies and communicating updates effectively.


You will need to have a strong background in data management, business intelligence, stakeholder engagement, and agile methodologies, with experience in transformation & change management. You will need to have experience working with global teams, and a company that is transition data systems.

This will be initially 6 months, outside iR35 and there is an on-site presence, where 2-3 days per week in the London office is the norm.
