Job summary

Serco Group in Milton Keynes is seeking a Functional Assessor to support the Department for Work and Pensions by conducting functional health assessments and producing high-quality reports.

You will engage with customers by phone, in person or online, and collaborate with healthcare professionals, with a full-time or part-time schedule and hybrid working.

Qualifications

• One year of post-registration experience as a Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist.
• Full registration with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or equivalent), with an active PIN and no restrictions.
• Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to write concise, accurate reports.
• Good IT skills and the ability to work efficiently under time pressures.

Responsibilities

• Speak with customers by phone, face to face or online.
• Carry out functional health assessments and gather accurate, detailed information.
• Consult with treating healthcare professionals where appropriate.

Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 per year, with salary uplifts within the first 12 months.

Schedule: Full time and Part time opportunities. Monday – Friday, no nights or weekends.

As a Functional Assessor in our Health Assessment Advisory Service team, you’ll carry out meaningful work on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions to understand how a person’s health condition affects their daily life. Through fair, comprehensive assessments, you’ll help create a positive impact for millions of people.

This role gives Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN & RNLD), Physiotherapists, Paramedics, Occupational Therapists and Pharmacists the chance to use your clinical expertise in a new way. All our Functional Assessors must successfully complete the full pre‑employment security screening process, including an Enhanced DBS check, before starting in role.
