Job summary

PFAS is seeking a Functional Assessor in Eastbourne on a permanent, full-time basis with hybrid working. The role offers a £45,000 starting salary, a Monday–Friday pattern, and a requirement to live within a 90-minute commute with on-site presence.

You will conduct structured assessments by phone, video or in person, reviewing evidence and producing detailed reports while applying professional judgement in line with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional (RGN, RMN, RNLD) with current NMC registration.
• Eligibility to practise in the UK.
• Minimum 12 months post-qualification clinical experience.
• Membership with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Conduct structured telephone, video or face-to-face assessments.
• Explore how a claimant's condition impacts daily living.
• Review and interpret clinical evidence.
• Produce detailed, high-quality written reports.
• Apply professional judgement in line with regulatory standards.
• Work towards quality and productivity targets.
• Deliver assessments in a respectful, fair and reassuring manner.
• Support transitioning into the role with structured training and oversight.

What You'll Be Doing

Conducting structured telephone, video or face-to-face assessments

This is an analytical, report-focused role. It suits clinicians who enjoy critical thinking and structured environments.

Essential Requirements
