Qualifications

  • First-class or strong upper-second undergraduate degree in Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline
  • A Master’s degree in Physics, Astrophysics, or a related field is desirable but not essential
  • Strong motivation to pursue interdisciplinary research in theoretical and experimental cosmology
  • Eligibility to meet UKRI or Swansea University funding requirements
  • Experience with computational modelling or numerical simulations
  • Analytical skills and familiarity with scientific programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scientific dissemination

Responsibilities

  • Model gravitational wave sources and their cosmological implications
  • Analyse observational data and interpret results in a cosmology context
  • Design computational experiments and develop new methodologies for interpreting gravitational wave signals
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary researchers and contribute to publications and presentations
