Job summary

University of Birmingham invites applications for an industrially sponsored PhD studentship to use state-of-the-art computational chemistry techniques to understand structure–property relationships in thermal batteries and to guide design of new materials.

The successful applicant will have a 2.1 honours or equivalent and demonstrate motivation, analytical and creative thinking, plus strong English writing and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• At least a 2.1 honours or equivalent at Bachelors or Masters in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or related field.
• Strong analytical and creative thinking abilities.
• Good English writing and presentation skills; background in interdisciplinary research is desirable.
