Full-Time Team Leader, Rehabilitation Support Worker Required - Peacehaven area

Location: BN10 area (Peacehaven, East Sussex)

Salary: Weekday - £15.30 per hour, Weekend - £17.10 per hour, Waking Night - £15.30 per hour, Team Leader Premium - £100.00 per week

Hours: Hours of work include weekdays, weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays on a rolling rota basis. Shifts generally run from 7.30am to 5.00pm, 5.00pm to 10.00pm, and waking nights, but these hours can vary.

On behalf of their client, the company are recruiting a team of support workers to provide 24-hour one-to-one support.

They're seeking the right team to support a young man in his 30s who is navigating life after a brain injury. He has a great sense of humour, big dreams, and a strong desire to live as independently as possible, make new friends, and explore his community.

While he experiences significant cognitive challenges and needs support with planning, organising and staying engaged, he's full of potential - and he's looking for someone who believes in him and can empower him to increase his independence and experience some fun along the way. Their client is registered blind due to having a visual impairment.

Responsibilities
  • Support with daily routines and planning activities and engage him in enjoyable and meaningful pursuits.
  • In liaison with the Case manager, you will conduct support worker supervisions, performance reviews, chair team meetings, support with audits and other admin tasks.
  • Encourage social connection and participation in the community.
  • Help foster independence and confidence in everyday tasks-assist with cooking, shopping, general tidying, attending appointments, and any other activities the day brings.
  • Be a reliable, friendly presence-and share a laugh or two along the way!
  • You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and under the guidance of their client's therapists to assist in his rehabilitation.
Qualifications and Skills
  • You're compassionate, patient, and upbeat - with a great sense of humour
  • You've supported people with physical or cognitive impairments before, and you're keen to learn
  • You're organised, proactive, and genuinely want to empower others
  • You're open to flexible hours and a role that's as rewarding as it is unique
  • You must be a driver
  • The ability to assist the client with his smart equipment (Training and guidance will be provided)
  • Experience of working with individuals who are registered blind (Would be beneficial)
  • Experience of working with individuals with a brain injury (Would be an advantage)
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Great sense of humour
Team Leader Role
  • Lead and coordinate a 24- hr committed team of support workers
  • Lead by example by establishing and maintaining a trusting, compassionate, and fun relationship with the Client.
  • Work directly with the client to support planning, community access, and meaningful engagement
  • Maintain clear routines, documentation, and communication with the family, Case manager and professionals
  • Promote independence, personal growth, and social connection
  • Foster a positive, can-do atmosphere where the client - and team - can thrive
