Are you a recent graduate looking to gain valuable experience in education? Do you want to work in a supportive environment where you can make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)?

We are currently seeking enthusiastic graduates to join our Ofsted-rated 'Good' SEND school in Sheffield as Full-Time Teaching Assistants. This is an exciting opportunity for graduates who are passionate about education and want to gain hands-on experience in a rewarding and fulfilling role.

As a Teaching Assistant in our SEND school, you will provide essential support to students with various needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities. Working closely with experienced teachers and support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential and thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of lessons and activities, working alongside the class teacher.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND, ensuring they are engaged and included in their learning.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility support where needed.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encourage the development of social, emotional, and academic skills in students.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior support strategies.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a passion for education and an interest in working with students with SEND.
  • Previous experience working with children (in any capacity) is desirable but not essential.
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to working with children with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow in the role.
  • A clear DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
