Job description

Full-time SEND Teaching Assistant

  • Full-time (5 days a week)
  • Ages 4-16
  • Immediate start
  • Long-term role

We work closely with a fantastic special school in the St Austell area that is looking for new Teaching Assistants to join with an immediate start. The school is based in a great location with brand new facilities and boasts a very high staff retention rate.

The school caters to a wide range of special needs & disabilities, often complex, so experience in this area is essential.

The role

Since there are a few gaps at the school currently, it is not certain which class you will support; this will depend on your experience and the best fit.

The role primarily involves providing general classroom support and 1-1 support where needed. Classroom teachers rely on their TAs for additional support, consistency, and proactiveness — proactiveness is the most important trait they seek in a special school setting.

Working with Long-term Teachers

We are an independent agency working with nurseries, primary, secondary, and special schools.

Founded with the aim of creating a genuine, transparent, and straightforward service, we focus on delivering exceptional support where you will be supported, listened to, and valued throughout your placement.

Your dedicated consultant will understand your experience and preferences, providing updates on compliance, applications, and relevant roles.

As proud members of the REC, we uphold the highest standards of compliance. Working with us means you will receive comprehensive support and guidance through the clearance process from your dedicated compliance team.

In addition, you will receive:

  • Guarantee Pay Scheme opportunities
  • Permanent job options
  • Support during clearance and onboarding
  • Compliance with Agency Workers Regulations
  • Interview preparation and advice
  • Statutory employment rights, including sick pay, holiday pay, maternity, and paternity pay
