Job summary

Academics is seeking a dedicated School Support Worker to assist learners in a specialist setting in High Wycombe. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to students with autism and communication difficulties, helping them access education in a nurturing environment.

The role requires calm, empathetic, and patient individuals who can perform personal care as needed. Start in September; full-time with potential temp-to-perm opportunities based on performance.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting autistic and/or non-verbal learners, ideally in school or care setting.
• Ability to provide personal and intimate care when required.
• Patience, resilience and genuine passion for helping young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners with autism and additional needs
• Assist non-verbal students with communication, sensory activities, and learning tasks
• Follow individual learning and care plans and collaborate with staff
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive environment
