Job summary

Supply Hive Wales is seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to join a Newport primary school on a full-time basis. You will assist the class teacher, run small group or one-to-one support, and help maintain a calm, encouraging classroom environment.

This role offers weekly pay at £14.31–£15.38 per hour, Monday to Friday, with safeguarding training provided and ongoing support from the Newport team from registration onwards.

Qualifications

• Experience with children, whether in a school, nursery, sports club or similar.
• No TA qualification needed – we'll chat through your experience and suitability before you register
• Reliable, kind and happy to get stuck in
• An Enhanced DBS, ideally on the Update Service

Responsibilities

• Working alongside the class teacher to support learning throughout the day
• Running small group and one-to-one sessions to help pupils catch up or push on
• Encouraging good behaviour and a calm, positive classroom
• Keeping an eye on pupils' wellbeing and letting the teacher know if anyone needs extra help
