We are a specialist Primary SEND School located in L27, serving predominantly Key Stage 1 pupils with autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and challenging behaviours. Our school is committed to providing a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment that supports the unique learning and developmental needs of every child.
The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Primary SEND Teacher to join our team from September 2025. This is a rewarding role where you will teach and support young learners with complex needs, adapting the curriculum to meet individual requirements and helping children achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver highly differentiated, sensory-inclusive lessons tailored for pupils with autism and PMLD.
Use a range of communication strategies to engage pupils and support their development.
Implement positive behaviour support strategies to manage and understand challenging behaviours.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, teaching assistants, and families.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans.
Requirements:
Proven experience teaching young children with SEND, particularly autism and PMLD.
Strong understanding of sensory needs, communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton), and behaviour management strategies.
Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach to support pupils with complex needs.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and liaise with families.
