Job Description:

Responsible for performing varies clerical duties regarding patient experience, for the office manager and physicians on staff.

Job Responsibility:

  • Greets, screens, and directs patients to exam rooms.
  • Performs patient intake including medical history, medications, and history of present illness.
  • Prepares and processes correspondence and answers routine medical administrative inquiries.
  • Performs medical receptionist duties as necessary. Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information.
  • Obtains, verifies, and updates patient information and provides support services to patients and medical staff.
  • Prepares exam room and patient for physical examination by physician.
  • Prepares patient face sheet to facilitate billing and any required follow up care, including diagnostic testing.
  • Assists in the dispensing of durable medical devices (DME) under the direction of the physician.
  • Applies DME to patients, and provides patient education on use and benefit of DME.
  • Varying shifts between the hours of 7:30am and 8pm
  • 1-2 late nights required (11:30am-8pm)
  • Rotating weekend shifts required (1 weekend day/month)

Job Qualification:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED). Diploma as a medical administrative assistant from an accredited medical vocational course preferred.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience working in a medical facility or related field.
  • Minimum one year experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment.
