Summary

Job Responsibilities
Main Purpose

The primary role of the Pharmacy Technician is to support the management and development of prescribing systems, ensuring safe, effective, and quality prescribing within the network’s member practices. The technician will collaborate closely with the PCN Clinical Pharmacist on individual prescribing projects and audits, fostering strong working relationships with local community pharmacies to provide high-quality patient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complex Prescribing Queries: Act as the lead contact for any complex prescribing queries on behalf of the network.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training new pharmacy staff (Pharmacy Technicians) to ensure they are well-equipped for their roles.
  • CQC Measures and PCN Targets: Support member surgeries in meeting their CQC measures and PCN-driven targets (IIF).
  • Clinical Administration: Assist the Operations Manager with clinical administration tasks to ensure smooth operation.
Person Specification
Experience

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in relevant clinical practice areas.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development through portfolio documentation.
  • Experience in delegation and supervision.
  • Proven ability to work flexibly and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time effectively.
  • Experience in managing change and conflict situations.

Desirable:

  • Experience in conducting audits.
Qualifications

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 / BTECH in Pharmacy Services or an equivalent nationally recognized qualification.
  • Accredited Checking Technician Qualification.

Desirable:

  • Additional Accredited Checking Technician Qualification.
