Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated, dynamic, and enthusiastic pharmacist with a passion for education and training to join our team. In this role, you will support the development of undergraduate pharmacists and contribute to clinical pharmacy services within the hospital. This is a unique opportunity to enhance your skills while shaping the future of the pharmacy workforce. You will play a crucial role in expanding clinical placements for pharmacy students from the University of Manchester, integrating into the pharmacy team, and collaborating with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Joining our established team of Clinical Tutors at MFT, you will also hold an honorary appointment with the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry at the University of Manchester. While based at Oxford Road Campus, you must be flexible to work at other MFT sites as required. The balance between teaching and clinical responsibilities will depend on service needs and future placement provisions.

To be eligible, you must be a qualified pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and either have or be working towards completing the second year of a post-graduate clinical diploma. You will receive a comprehensive induction, regular one-on-one meetings, and annual appraisals to support your professional development.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Tutor team and academic staff at the University to provide hospital placements for all years of the MPharm program, including curriculum review and updates in line with new GPhC guidance.
  • Engage in audit and practice research to advance clinical teaching and support pharmacy undergraduate students with their research projects.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a patient-focused clinical pharmacy service within the pharmacy department, including participation in weekend and late-night rotas.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Education and Training strategy of the MFT pharmacy department, including mentoring trainee and rotational pharmacists.
