Job summary

Chiltern Wood School in High Wycombe is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant to support children and young people aged 4–19 with developmental, physical and sensory needs.

You will work with school Occupational Therapists to develop and deliver interventions, help pupils access the curriculum, and contribute to a calm, supportive learning environment. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a health and social care, educational or childcare environment, which brings relevant transferable skills
• Basic understanding of child development
• Understanding of the role of an Occupational Therapist when working with children and young people
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to prioritise workload effectively and work independently
• Ability to maintain accurate record keeping
• Must have a full valid UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle

Responsibilities

• Work alongside school Occupational Therapists to develop and deliver whole class and small group interventions to develop functional motor skills, independence skills and support regulation needs for access to the curriculum and wider environment
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student learning and wellbeing
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews
