A busy and welcoming family in Radlett, Hertfordshire, is seeking an experienced, proactive, and versatile full-time live-in housekeeper to manage their modern five-bedroom home, which spans three floors. This beautiful property includes a cinema room and a swimming pool.
The role is long-term and ideal for a candidate who is organised, dedicated, and passionate about maintaining high standards in a warm family environment.
The household comprises of Mum and Dad, three children (aged 8, 12, and 14) and four dogs. It is a lively and dynamic home with a steady flow of visitors, offering a fun yet structured atmosphere. The family is looking for a personable housekeeper who will become a valued member of their home.
Working hours:
You will work Monday to Friday, 07.00-19.00 and a shorter day on Saturday, 07.00-12.00 (67.5 hours/week). There will be time for breaks during the day, including a lunch break.
Accommodation:
Your private accommodation is located on the top floor and includes an en-suite bedroom. All meals will be provided.
Key responsibilities:
• Daily deep cleaning, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens
• Laundry and ironing
• Preparing the children for school in the mornings
• Ensuring the children have everything needed for the following day (uniform, sports kit, etc)
• Cooking and serving light meals for the children and occasionally for the parents
• Feeding, letting out, and occasionally walking the family’s dogs
• Assisting with entertaining, including preparation and clean-up
• Receiving deliveries and liaising with contractors
• Performing other ad hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of the household
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience working in a high-end private household
• Fluency in English and full rights to work in the UK
• A hardworking, proactive, and highly organized approach
• A positive, “can-do” attitude with the ability to work as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, particularly with children
• A pet-friendly attitude
• Trustworthiness, reliability, and discretion
• Excellent, checkable references
• Their own fully insured car, with a clean licence (duty mileage to be paid)
