Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support primary pupils in Bath. You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, in specialist provisions with KS1 and KS2 pupils who have learning disabilities and autism.

No prior experience is required; emphasis is on empathy, patience and a genuine interest in supporting children. Training provided with a potential for permanency after an 18-week period.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required; positive attitude and empathy are valued.
• Ideal candidates will be patient and motivated to support children with additional needs.
• Background in Art, Drama or related subjects is welcomed for hands-on school experience.

Responsibilities

• Support KS1/KS2 pupils with learning disabilities and autism in classrooms.
• Assist with lessons and small-group activities to encourage independence.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils reach their potential.
