A primary school in North Birmingham is seeking a full-time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) starting in September. The ideal candidate will lead lessons, support diverse educational needs, and collaborate with staff to enhance student learning outcomes in a welcoming environment.

Hays Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the North of Birmingham. We are currently recruiting a confident and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September on a full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA to bring their creativity, leadership, and passion for education to a vibrant school community.
Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship or visa permits. You must have recent UK school-based experience and the relevant qualifications for this role.
The Role Includes:
Leading and planning lessons in the absence of the teacher
Providing classroom support across EYFS, KS1 & KS2
Running focused 1:1 and small group interventions
Supporting SEN(D) children when required
Supporting with phonics, literacy, numeracy, and guided reading
Collaborating with teaching staff to support learning outcomes
Contributing to behaviour management and pupil well-being

What You'll Need to Succeed:
HLTA status or equivalent Level 4/5 qualification
Demonstrated experience in primary settings (UK-based)
Strong understanding of the National Curriculum
Excellent behaviour management and adaptability
A proactive, positive mindset and a passion for working with children
Confident delivering lessons independently when required
Experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 is preferred
Willingness to support pupils with additional needs and personal care if needed
Safeguarding: As part of our onboarding process, two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check are required.
