Courses taught may include “Race in the US: Black America”, “Jailhouse Nation,” “Black Studies,” “Latin American Rebels and Revolutionaries,” “Modern Middle East,” “Writing About History,” and “Food, Justice, Power” (among others).
  • Contribute to the school with the equivalence of a teaching block through professional development and committee work.
  • Plan, develop, and execute lessons that showcase innovation, creativity, and a passion for the art of teaching while also utilizing distinctive instructional approaches that best serve the students’ long-term interests.
  • Evaluate each student’s ability to meet course standards in historical knowledge and skills in a progressive educational setting. Document and communicate academic progress to students, advisors, and guardians.
  • Participate in weekly departmental meetings prepared to discuss student concerns, teaching pedagogy, and curriculum developments. Assist with departmental representation at school outreach events.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and interest to learn and share new pedagogical techniques and develop specific curricular expertise. Read and stay abreast of current topics in History education and engage History teaching faculty in discussions on new perspectives.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the values of progressive, student-centered education.
  • Passion for teaching creative students with a variety of learning styles.

Faculty at The Cambridge School of Weston also:

  • Participate in our PACE curriculum (Promoting Awareness and Community Engagement) that prepares students to meet the demands of an increasingly complex and diverse world.
  • Participate in up to two alliance/affinity groups, student clubs, or committee.
  • Chaperone two weekend activities each year to support our student life programming.
  • Candidates may express interest in working within our residential community (housing provided).

Benefits of Working at CSW:

  • Curricular agency valuing creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Competitive salary and robust human resource benefits.
