Job summary

sjb medical is recruiting a Functional Assessor in the United Kingdom. You will use clinical expertise to assess how health conditions affect daily living and work capabilities, preparing detailed reports for the DWP.

The role combines medical knowledge with compassionate patient interaction and collaborative teamwork. You will perform face-to-face assessments as well as video or phone consultations, with regular hours from 9am–5pm, and a strong emphasis on professional development and work-life

Qualifications

• Be a registered healthcare professional with 12+ months post-registration UK experience.
• Strong clinical decision-making and ability to assess functional impact.
• Excellent communicator and able to build trust.
• Digitally capable with experience using clinical software.
• Self-motivated, organised and team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assessments face-to-face and via video or phone.
• Take detailed medical histories and conduct physical examinations.
• Prepare high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
• Work independently within a supportive multidisciplinary team and pursue continuous learning.
