Job summary

Gadgets4UK in Sheffield is seeking a skilled Web Designer to design and build attractive, high-performing websites, handling both front-end and back-end development, including custom themes and third-party integrations.

You will work closely with clients to translate requirements into polished, user-friendly sites, ensuring strong UX, robust architecture, performance, and ongoing security maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven work experience as a Website Designer.
• Familiarity with version control tools, particularly Git.
• Solid understanding of website architecture, UX, and visual design principles.
• Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to understand website design and functionality requirements.
• Design and build responsive website front-ends.
• Plan and structure website architecture.
• Manage the website back-end, including database and server integration.
• Develop custom Website themes.
• Run performance tests and optimise site speed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve content and functionality issues.
• Monitor the performance of live websites and apply updates as needed.
