Job Description:

Build Bold Technology. Make a Meaningful Impact.

Are you an experienced software engineer looking for purpose-driven work? Do you thrive in dynamic, start-up environments where your voice and skills matter? Are you excited about developing cutting-edge products that push boundaries and create real-world change? If so, read on.

Why This Role is Great

Our client is a fast-growing Tech for Good start-up, emerging from world-class research and backed by serious ambition. They are developing a next-generation hardware-software product that combines deep tech innovation with human impact. As part of a small, capable team, you'll influence architecture, set standards, and help scale the solution to market.

This role is for someone who wants to build and own problems, not just maintain or follow tickets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing a groundbreaking new product from scratch.
  • Leading the software architecture across the entire stack.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including UX, hardware, compliance, and product management.
  • Writing clear, scalable, and maintainable code with foresight.
  • Pair programming and mentoring to foster a strong engineering culture.
  • Thriving in the ambiguity and excitement of early-stage tech development.

About You

You enjoy autonomy, deep tech, and meaningful work. You will work with innovative minds, solving technical challenges with elegance and purpose.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of modern development practices, tools, and full-stack architecture.
  • Experience building mobile apps; Swift experience is a bonus but not essential.
  • Comfort working in Agile, collaborative environments.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, architecture, and clean code.
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Bonus: a mathematical or analytical background; curiosity and problem-solving skills are highly valued.

If you're excited about the mission and have transferable skills, we encourage you to apply even if not all points are met.

What’s in It for You

This is more than a job; it's an opportunity to shape impactful technology's future.

  • Flexible working hours with hybrid options.
  • Lunch and dinner provided when working late.
  • Team outings and retreats, from outreach events to off-sites.
  • A location near a major tube line with access to facilities like a gym and climbing wall.
  • Access to a fully equipped workshop with tools such as 3D printers and CNC machines, available for professional or personal projects.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Our client and Humand Talent are committed to building diverse and inclusive teams. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. If you believe you'd thrive here, we want to hear from you—even if you don't meet every requirement.
