Job summary

Harnham in London is seeking an engineer to join as an early full-stack/mobile hire, offering significant ownership across the platform. The role is hybrid, based near Waterloo/London Bridge, with equity and a path to leadership as the product scales.

You will work across cloud, mobile, and connected-device tech, shaping architecture, delivering backend services, and delivering mobile apps while collaborating with founders, product and design teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Full Stack or Mobile Engineer.
• Experience shipping mobile apps.
• Cloud engineering experience, ideally AWS.
• Startup or high-growth experience.
• Operate across frontend, backend, and infra.
• Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker and GitHub.
• Exposure to React Native is beneficial.
• Experience with Bluetooth / IoT is advantageous.
• Passion for engineering and product development.

This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage technology company as one of its first software engineering hires. With a product already in market, strong commercial traction, and fresh investment secured, you'll have significant ownership across the platform while helping shape the future of the engineering function.

The Company

They are a fast-growing technology business developing a connected hardware and software product used by a growing customer base. Having successfully launched their product and generated strong early revenue, they are now scaling both the platform and the team. The business combines mobile applications, cloud infrastructure, and connected-device technology to deliver a highly innovative user experience.

The Role

You will work across the full technology stack, helping scale both the product and engineering capability.

Responsibilities include:

• Owning and developing cloud backend services and infrastructure


• Building and enhancing mobile applications


• Working across mobile, cloud, and connected-device environments


• Supporting Bluetooth connectivity and device communications


• Helping bring software development fully in-house


• Collaborating closely with founders, product, and design teams


• Contributing to architecture, scalability, and engineering best practices


• Playing a key role in the growth of the software function

Your Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience as a Full Stack Engineer or Mobile Software Engineer


• Experience building and shipping mobile applications


• Strong cloud engineering experience, ideally within AWS


• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals


• Experience working in startup or high-growth environments


• Ability to operate across frontend, backend, and infrastructure


• Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker, and GitHub


• Exposure to React Native is beneficial


• Experience with Bluetooth, BLE, IoT, or connected devices is advantageous


• Passion for engineering, product development, and continuous improvement
