Job description

!! UK-based applicants only !! Close enough to get to their Cardiff office a couple of times a month !! Are you passionate about using technology for social good? I’m helping a mission-driven AI start-up find a Full-Stack Software Engineer, well-versed in C# .Net & React.js, along with exposure to Azure. They’re tackling one of the most urgent challenges of the digital age: identifying and mitigating online harms. The technical skills you’ll need
  • Proven C# .Net experience in an environment using Azure.
  • Good use of React.js (or other modern JS libraries, but they use React.js)
  • Exposure to event-based service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and container orchestration.
  • Any use of Python & Azure DevOps would be a bonus.
The right person will…
  • Be down-to-earth, easy to get on with, no ego!
  • Be keen to explore unfamiliar tech when needed.
  • Understand Agile, Lean and DevOps principles.
  • Value collaborative development and not just be a ‘coder’.
  • Communicate clearly, work well in a team and not be afraid to take initiative.
  • Be eager to learn and continuously improve their skills and processes.
What You’ll Be Doing As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you’ll work across the product lifecycle, from idea to deployment, contributing to both greenfield projects and the evolution of their core platform. You’ll also help design, build and maintain full-stack applications that help detect and counter online harms. Create intuitive and accessible user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks. Develop efficient, secure and reliable backend systems that interface with APIs and databases. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand user needs and shape product direction. Document your work, share best practices and support a progressive engineering culture. Participate in a structured development process that includes collaborative in-person workshops every six weeks. What you’ll get in return for your skills As well as a salary of up to £55K DOE, 28 days holiday + bank holidays + BUPA medical, you’ll also be part of a mission-lead start-up within an innovative environment, experienced leadership guiding you, a collaborative culture in a small but established and technical team, mostly working from home with a trip to Cardiff a couple of times a month and plenty of career growth too. What’s next? If you're excited about using technology to solve meaningful problems, want to be part of a small and focused team building the future of online safety, I’d love to hear from you!
