Job summary

Forsyth Barnes Consultancy in Nottingham partners with a fast-growing eCommerce healthcare business to build, extend and optimise the core platform. You will own key areas from WordPress/WooCommerce development to custom integrations and performance improvements, collaborating with founders and the Technical Lead.

This hybrid role requires strong PHP/Laravel experience, WordPress/WooCommerce proficiency, and JS knowledge (vanilla/React/Vue).

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with PHP development and Laravel.
• Experience with WordPress and/or WooCommerce.
• Experience building custom plugins or themes.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript (vanilla, React or Vue preferred).
• Experience with APIs and third-party integrations.
• Comfortable working in fast-moving, product-focused environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain WordPress / WooCommerce-based eCommerce systems
• Develop custom plugins, themes, and backend functionality (PHP/Laravel)
• Design and integrate APIs and third-party systems
• Work across the full stack (PHP + JavaScript)
• Improve platform performance, stability, and scalability
