Full Stack Engineer (Team Lead)

Type: 4-month fixed-term contract, expected to become permanent.

About the role: Our client is building a dynamic digital ecosystem for social learning and collaboration. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team focused on innovation and platform development.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a development team, ensuring high-quality code and best practices.
• Full-Stack Development: Design and develop features using React, Node.js, Directus, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and APIs.
• Matrix/Synapse Integration: Develop real-time messaging features with Matrix/Synapse.
• Cloud & DevOps: Manage deployments, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar).
• Database & API Management: Design schemas and develop secure APIs (RESTful/GraphQL).
• Performance Optimization, Code Review, Security: Ensure platform performance, code quality, and security best practices.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience with headless CMS solutions like Directus.
• Strong understanding of RESTful & GraphQL APIs.
• Leadership experience in software development teams.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and DevOps practices.
• Agile methodologies, CI/CD, Git, Docker.
• Arabic language skills beneficial.
• Experience with AI/ML, real-time messaging, WebSockets, and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of platform monetisation and data privacy regulations.
