Referment is building a cutting-edge, cloud-native platform for investment management and risk analytics in London. This is a rare chance to join an ambitious fintech early and help shape both product direction and engineering culture.
You'll design and implement high-performance backend services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, collaborating with founders and senior leaders to replace decades-old legacy systems and empower investment professionals globally.
Build the future of institutional investment technology.
Most software engineering jobs involve maintaining someone else's platform. This isn't one of them.
Referment has partnered with an ambitious fintech that's rebuilding the technology used by some of the world's most sophisticated investment managers. Their mission is simple: replace decades-old legacy systems with a modern, cloud-native platform that brings portfolio management, trading, risk analytics and AI together in one seamless product.
This is a genuine opportunity to join early enough to shape both the product and the engineering culture. You'll work directly with experienced founders and technical leaders, influence architectural decisions, and build software that will be relied upon by leading investment firms across the globe.
This isn't another fintech building dashboards or payment apps.
You’ll be solving complex engineering problems that sit at the heart of global financial markets. Every day you'll be working on software that helps investment professionals manage billions of pounds of assets, analyse risk in real time and make better investment decisions.
As one of the early engineers, you'll have genuine ownership over the platform. Your ideas won't disappear into layers of management or lengthy approval processes, you'll help decide how the product is built and where it goes next.
If you've ever wanted to join a business early enough to make a lasting impact, this is one of those rare opportunities.
You'll design and build high-performance software across the entire platform, from backend services and APIs through to cloud infrastructure and modern user interfaces.
Working closely with the founders, CTO and product team, you'll solve difficult technical problems, contribute to architectural decisions and help build a platform designed to replace legacy investment management software.
The client is looking for exceptional engineers rather than someone who simply ticks every technology box.
If you've been teaching yourself Rust because you believe it's the future of systems programming, we'd particularly like to hear from you.
Previous experience with every technology isn't expected. Strong engineers with the right mindset and foundations will be supported as they get up to speed.
This role is for you if...
And you're excited by the opportunity to help build what could become the next generation of institutional investment management technology.
