Job Description:

Build Bold Technology. Make a Meaningful Impact.

Are you an experienced software engineer looking for more purpose in your work? Do you thrive in dynamic, start-up environments where your voice and skills truly matter? Excited by developing cutting-edge products that push boundaries and deliver real-world change? If so, read on.

Why This Role is Great

Our client is a fast-growing Tech for Good start-up, born from world-class research and backed by serious ambition. They're developing a next-generation hardware-software product that combines deep tech innovation with real human impact. As part of a small, highly capable team, you’ll influence architecture, drive standards, and help scale the solution to market.

This role is for someone who wants to build, not just maintain. Someone who wants to own problems, not just follow tickets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing a groundbreaking new product from scratch.
  • Shaping the software architecture across the entire stack.
  • Collaborating with UX, hardware, compliance, and product teams.
  • Writing clear, scalable, and maintainable code, thinking ahead.
  • Pair programming and mentoring to foster a strong engineering culture.
  • Thriving in the ambiguity and excitement of early-stage tech development.

About You

This role is ideal for someone who values autonomy, is passionate about deep tech, and wants their work to have meaning. You’ll work with innovative minds, solving technical challenges with elegance and purpose.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
  • Understanding of modern development practices, tools, and full-stack architecture.
  • Experience building mobile apps; Swift experience is a bonus.
  • Comfort working in Agile, collaborative environments.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, architecture, and clean code.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Bonus: a mathematical or analytical background, but curiosity and problem-solving are key.

If you’re excited about the mission and have transferable skills, we encourage you to apply.

What’s in It for You

This is more than a job — it’s a chance to shape the future of impactful technology.

  • Flexible hours with hybrid options.
  • Late working? Lunch and dinner provided.
  • Team outings and retreats, from outreach to off-sites.
  • Located minutes from a major tube line, with access to facilities like a gym and climbing wall.
  • Access to a workshop with 3D printers and CNC machines for projects.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Our client and Humand Talent are committed to diverse, inclusive teams. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and experiences. Even if you’re unsure you meet every point, we want to hear from you.
