Job summary

Nudge Education is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our team. This role focuses on a platform that directly supports vulnerable young people and handles education, health and safeguarding data, requiring careful, privacy‑conscious engineering.

You will work with React and TypeScript, server components, and a strong emphasis on accessibility, testing and documentation. The position may require UK‑based attendance at the Newcastle office 2–3 days per week, and a basic DBS check is expected.

Qualifications

• Solid commercial experience with React and TypeScript with explicit types.
• Strong SQL and relational modelling; read schema and write migrations.
• Experience building and consuming APIs with auth and error handling.
• Server-first approach with server components and suspense.
• Experience with UI patterns and design tokens.
• Strong accessibility mindset for mobile and variable connectivity.
• Good judgement on engineering risk and release planning.
• Clear written communication and documentation.
• Careful handling of sensitive children's data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a React/TypeScript stack with strong typing.
• Design and implement APIs with validation and auth.
• Follow server-first architecture using server components.
• Work with UI components and tokens for consistency.
