Job summary

SmartChoice International GCC in London is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to own features end-to-end, working directly with customers to translate complex workflows into scalable software solutions.

You will build across the full stack, including frontend, backend, data models and AI/model layers, and ship production software quickly while iterating on feedback. This role offers strong ownership and collaboration with founders and senior engineers.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of software or product engineering experience.
• Experience shipping production software used by real customers.
• Comfort across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and data models.
• Strong problem-solving and product judgement.
• Comfortable speaking directly with customers and non-technical stakeholders.

We are partnering with a fast-growing, AI software business in London that is looking to hire multiple Forward Deployed Engineers as it continues to scale its engineering team.

This is an opportunity for a strong full-stack engineer who wants more ownership than a traditional software engineering role. You will work directly with customers, understand complex real-world problems, design solutions and build them end-to-end.

The Role

You will:

• Work directly with customers and non-technical stakeholders to understand complex workflows.
• Translate real-world problems into scalable software solutions.
• Build across the full stack, including frontend, backend, data models and AI/model layers.
• Own features and product areas from concept through to production.
• Ship production software quickly and iterate based on user feedback.
• Work closely with founders and senior engineers on technical and product decisions.

What We're Looking For

• Around 3–6 years' experience in software engineering or product engineering.
• Experience building and shipping production software used by real customers.
• Comfortable working across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and data models.
• Strong problem-solving and product judgement.
• Comfortable speaking directly with customers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to operate effectively in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.

The technology environment includes:

You do not need experience with every technology listed. Strong engineering fundamentals, learning ability and full-stack ownership are more important.

Package

The position is based in Shoreditch, London, with an expectation of working predominantly from the office five days per week.
